How You'll Make An Impact

We’re looking for a Spanish-speaking Music Analyst to help us with the vast range of music originating in Central/South America and the Caribbean. The Music Analysis team is an exceptionally talented group of people with diverse expertise in various music genres. Each one has a background in the performance, recording, composition and/or production of music. Music Analysts are chiefly tasked with performing Pandora’s proprietary musicological analysis on song recordings, as well as a more general artist-level analysis.

What You'll Do

• To evaluate a large spectrum of detailed musical characteristics at the song level, and;
• To succinctly express the most prominent aspects of an artist’s career and body of work.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Be a musician and be able to demonstrate knowledge equivalent to a 4 year music degree, including the ability to identify time signatures, chord qualities, melodic intervals, formal structure, etc. by ear
• Have a broad knowledge of Latin music Genres, both current and historical
• Be conversant in the musical and cultural elements of various Latin music styles
• Fluency in Spanish language (familiarity with regional dialects/slang is a plus)
• Full time 40 hrs/week commitment
• Music Theory proficiency equivalent to 4 semesters of study, including:
• Transcribe melodies & evaluate the harmonic structure of a song
• Determine instrumentation & timbres of a song
• Accurately characterize metric and formal structures
• Broad knowledge of Latin music Genres, including both mainstream and underground music, from different eras
• Versatility to be able to objectively evaluate music outside your own taste
• Familiarity with modern hip-hop is a plus
• Basic computer skills (mac)
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
  
  

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the salary range for this position to be $57,300 - $65,000, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
