What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fright Fest Shows Host/Usher position at Six Flags Theme Parks?
Please note: this is a short-term position for a specific event and time period.
Set the stage for fun by welcoming our guests to enjoy our live shows this Fright Fest season! You will prioritize guest safety when entering and exiting a performance venue, maintain a clean and safe facility, and create a positive and memorable experience for everyone!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing excellent “Guest First” customer service through friendly interactions and knowledgeable answering of questions regarding general park information.
- Advertising the show to guests passing by and support Entertainment by recommending/discussing other shows and attractions available.
- Meet and greet all guests entering and exiting a venue.
- Assist guests with special seating needs, such as wheelchairs, strollers, etc.
- Accurately reporting attendance counts for each show.
- Observing guests during shows for safety and offering assistance as needed.
- Setting up before a performance and striking afterwards.
- Ensuring general housekeeping for the venue, cleaning both inside and out.
- Wearing and properly maintaining your park-issued costume. This will include wearing park-approved shoes and black dress pants that you will provide.
- Immediately reporting any unsafe acts to the unit Stage Manager.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must adhere to park standards and rules and must maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Must be a “people person” and have an enthusiastic and helpful attitude.
- Must be professional, self-motivated, and participate as a member of the team.
- Must have good leadership skills, with the ability to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions.
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to the Six Flags Mantra: Friendly, Clean, Fast, and Safe Service.
- Must work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. You are applying to be an integral part of a show and should be available for all performance dates.
Physical Requirements:
- You will work in a fast-paced environment with specific timeframes and deadlines.
- You must be in good physical condition: be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, speak clearly, listen closely, and more for extended periods of time.
- You must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- You will work in and outdoors in potentially extreme heat, sun, cold, rain, humidity, and temperature changes.
- You must be able to work around loud noises, in the dark or under special effects lighting (possibly strobes), and in theatrical fog, occasionally navigating in dark, restrictive spaces under aforementioned circumstances.
- Overtime of adults may be required from time to time to accommodate the business need.
