EVENT ACCOUNTANT
MISSION
For the company’s events and event-related activity, provide accounting and financial reporting (internal and external) that is timely and accurate.
DESCRIPTORS
Analytical, Proactive, Accurate, Organized, Flexible, Communicator
· Serve as the primary preparer of financial reporting to event partners, including event budgets, interim estimates, Sail Today reports, pre-settlements, final settlements, and other reporting as needed while keeping confidential information confidential
· Work with the internal owners of various event budget areas and develop processes to ensure that cost estimates are consistently up-to-date
· Receive, analyze, and report on the financial information sent from the ships and/or resorts on onboard revenue, merchandise revenue, onboard spending, and other areas; summarize this information for Accounting in a format that allows for seamless journal entries
· Ensure that other event-specific financial activity is accounted for (e.g. cash float, artist payments, revenue)
· Assist in the development and preparation of charter allocation sheets by obtaining fuel quotes, tax quotes, etc.
· Prepare (or assist in the preparation of) reconciliations of final Accounts Receivable for all events
· Work with the Sixthman IT team to develop or improve reports generated by the reservation system that can provide valuable insights into sales, pricing, and inventory
· Proactively make recommendations to improve processes, including recommending new tools/processes/reports/templates that will enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial forecasting and reporting
· Develop and maintain standard budget templates for various event types (cruise vs land, new vs renewal, etc.) to ensure the accuracy of budgets
Support the business development team by preparing or reviewing budgets for new artists, concepts, and venues
· Additional projects and duties as assigned
· Attend several of the Company’s events annually and perform various duties onboard which could include financial settlement, maintaining custody of cash and checks, guest services, ushering, etc. with the goal of delivering world-class experience to guests, artists, and partners
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required (or equivalent experience)
· 2 years of finance/accounting experience preferred but not required
· Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to keep information confidential required
· Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
· Detail oriented with high accuracy, strong organization skills, and the ability to multitask
· Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes or challenges
· Computer proficiency (Email, Word, and strong Excel skills)
