What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at SJE?
What you will do:
As our Industrial Control Field Service Technician, you will test control systems prior to shipment and assist with start-up and commissioning of new projects in the field as well as troubleshooting servicing and repairing installed systems. You will interact with engineers, contractors, end-users, and other equipment suppliers. This position works in our Vacaville, CA location.
The job:
Every day, your primary role will be reading schematics, checking, testing, and troubleshooting electrical control panels. You will repair, retrofit, and troubleshoot installed equipment and perform start-ups of new water and wastewater systems. You will provide exceptional customer service to external customers on the phone and in the field. You will travel 50% of the time, most are day trips with occasional overnight trips.
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and be able to troubleshoot electrical equipment. You must possess exceptional customer service skills and be able to communicate efficiently with internal and external customers. You must have experience testing instrumentation that controls/monitors pressure, level, and flow. You must have 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Technology, Electrical Construction, Automation, or other related fields. Experience working with PLCs and SCADA is preferred.
