Supply Chain Leader

 What you will do:

As our Supply Chain Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement management of our Standard Products Supply Chain Team. This includes managing materials sourcing, spend, vendor relationships, systems maintenance, and integrity. The role involves collaboration with multiple departments and cross-functional teams to identify and implement supply chain improvement opportunities. The components you procure will build products that help control and monitor one of the world’s most valuable and limited resources– Water! This position works in our Detroit Lakes, MN location.

The job:

Every day, your primary responsibilities will be:

• Supply Chain Specialist Team Management
  • Define business requirements for direct and indirect products and services.
  • Manage standard work processes.
  • Provide backup and departmental support to the Supply Chain team.
• Procurement Management
  • Support and participate in the development of standards for equipment, products, and substitute materials.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to execute a process for sourcing alternate materials.
  • Manage division spend, adhering to the Continuous Improvement Process for cost avoidance and mitigation.
  • Report on exception management metrics.
  • Oversee inventory management, addressing excess, slow-moving, obsolescence, and MRB.
• Vendor Management
  • Maintain the Approved Vendor List and Approved Manufacturer List.
  • Manage vendor onboarding and divesting processes.
  • Monitor and report supplier operational quality performance.
  • Collaborate on supplier quality and risk mitigation processes, including QBRs, scorecard reviews, SQL, and disruptive inventory measures.
  • Partner with Quality Manager to resolve supplier non-conformance issues.
• System Maintenance and Integrity
  • Engage in efforts to maintain system integrity, including IFS system data management.
  • Document and standardize processes for consistency.
• Leadership Responsibilities
  • Build a strong team atmosphere and encourage collaboration.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Train, evaluate, and manage staff while ensuring adherence to department policies.
  • Work with staff to implement and sustain a Continuous Improvement program.
  • Maintain key performance indicators (KRAs) as determined by the Plant Manager.

The skills you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have a clear understanding of project-based manufacturing and experience with operations and supply chain management. You must be able to communicate positively and encourage cooperation across all departments. An associate degree, with 3-5 years of supply chain management experience is preferred.
