What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Officer position at SJVC?
Summary: The Safety Officer position provides a safe and secure environment for students, employees and visitors by observing and reporting safety violations, unusual incidents, or illegal activity to the Campus Leader and/or Purchasing Facilities Technician. Additionally, the Safety position performs numerous nontraditional facilities related tasks as well. This type of environment is necessary for the pursuit of education.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and comfortable with daily use of computers for checking email, completing timecards, and completing daily activity logs, etc.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or relevant experience.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-11:00pm.
