AMPAC Fine Chemicals (AFC), an SK pharmteco company, is a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs, Drug Substances) and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Our integrated facilities located in California, Texas, and Virginia specialize in process development, scale-up, and cGMP compliant production from kilograms to multi-ton quantities.
We are currently seeking a Process Scientist III to join our growing team in Rancho Cordova, CA (greater Sacramento area).
The Process Scientist III performs professional chemist assignments requiring full use and application of standard chemical principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. This position aids projects in meeting established schedules or to resolve complex technical or operational problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in chemistry. General knowledge of other disciplines
- Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
- Perform experiments in a timely manner under the guidance of the lead chemist.
- Assist engineering and analytical teams with technical transfer questions.
- Production support.
- Assist in preparation of technical reports and lead portions of customer call.
- Must be able to work efficiently both individually and as a team, by sharing ideas, and adapting to change.
- Ability to solve problems and has strong organizational and planning skills.
Education
- Bachelor degree Chemistry required, Master’s degree or PhD (preferred)
Experience
- 4-6 years related technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills
- Knowledge of organic chemistry
- Knowledge of engineering basic principles
- Knowledge of analytical techniques for active pharmaceutical ingredients
- Good communication skills (Oral and written)
- Organized, detail oriented and safety conscious
- Curious and creative
Salary range: $91,800 - $112,800
