Job Summary
The Fiscal Specialist will provide fiscal support in one or more fiscal related areas including but not limited to accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger. This position has internal contact with the entire organization and external contact with various banking, vendor, contract personnel and external auditors. Essential Functions
Prepare and process accounting documents, such as invoices, bills, and other documents with exceptional attention to detail. Perform account reconciliations; Monitor and review revenues and expenditures for accuracy. Prepare, compile, and provide fiscal reports needed for audits and monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. Notify appropriate individual of any anomalies. Supports general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and payroll operations by filing documents, preparing deposits, reconciling statements, recording information. Perform a variety of accounts payable functions verifying receiving, account coding, and budget authorization. Reconcile accounts payable vendor statements. Manage vendor master file; Ensure all information is complete in order to process payments in compliance with SRH guidelines and policies. Participate in the monitoring of our General Ledger and Account Payable email inboxes. Interpret fiscal policies and procedures related to accounts payable. Maintain and modify fiscal record keeping systems, databases, and spreadsheets. Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Prepare monthly recurring journal entries. Perform basic office tasks, including responding to emails, processing mail, ordering supplies, and maintain filing systems. Generates reports out of ERP and payroll systems to perform audits. Audits payroll reports to ensure Earning Codes, Benefits, Registers and Canned NPRs are aligned with Union and SRH guidelines and policies. Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related work streams as needed. Perform incidental office support work in connection with the accounting duties assigned. Complies with all SRH and department policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent, required. College level course work in accounting, business administration or related field, preferred.
Experience/Training
Previous experience with accounts payable, preferred. Public and health care accounting experience, preferred.
License/Certifications
None required.
Other Skills
A meticulous, confident, and detail-oriented self-starter with prior fiscal experience, is desired. Strong customer service and computer skills are also essential for effectively working with vendors and college staff to resolve accounts payable items and other fiscal related issues. Excellent communication skills both orally and written is required. Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Needs to present a professional demeanor, and encourage participation and collaboration in an open approachable style with both internal and external customers. Must be proactive in manner, highly organized, and responds in an accurate and timely fashion to data requests. Needs to have solid judgment, and take personal responsibility and ownership of all work performed. Must enjoy working with numbers and be willing to be cross trained for all functions within their team. Being resourceful, a visionary, innovative, confident, credible with very high integrity, self-motivated.

Repetitive tasks such as typing, sitting, answering phones, and interacting with computers and computer systems most of the day is a function of the position.
