Rink Manager Sioux Falls

Position Summary

Skate City is seeking a dynamic, versatile leader who can manage the operation within the rink, engage with customers in a way that ensures excellent customer satisfaction, and possess the vision to help attain our long-term business goals. As the Rink Manager, you will be responsible for mastering the day-to-day operation of the rink, including overseeing our skating sessions and parties, the part time crew members working these sessions, opening and closing duties, working with vendors, and scheduling. Our rink and business operation is fast paced with a lot of moving parts that will require someone who is flexible, able to step into various roles to ensure a smooth performance. This position will require nights and weekends.

But beyond this, we want to hire someone who enjoys working with and leading others and engaging with our customers. We want our crew members to feel valued and supported to do their job effectively, and our customers to feel like Skate City gives the best customer experience in town. Responsibilities and Duties

1. Session Operation - the Rink Manager is responsible for the operation of our public and private sessions. It is the role of the Rink Manager to ensure all aspects run smoothly: opening and closing tasks, admission, birthday parties, in-rink activities, building maintenance, customer safety, and others.
2. Managing Staff - the Rink Manager will oversee the part time staff and crew members. This includes training staff for the various roles around the rink, scheduling staff for our public and private operations, and conduct performance reviews to ensure our staff is engaged and growing.
3. Customer Engagement - it is our goal that our customers have the best experience possible at our rink. It is the duty of the Rink Manager to engage with customers, create a positive energy for our employees, and uphold high standards of customer service.
4. Miscellaneous Rink Duties - many tasks go into the operation of the rink, including ordering snack bar items, redemption items, and facilities supplies. Also, it is essential that all lights, games, DJ booth equipment, furniture, and skates be in good condition. It is the role of the Rink Manager to ensure and enforce these standards.

Qualifications

Experience

1. High school diploma required.
2. 2 years management or supervisory experience preferred.
3. 2 years customer service experience preferred.

1. Time Management and Organization - the operational side of the Rink Manager’s responsibilities will bring different tasks and challenges each day. It is essential for our ideal candidate to possess the organizational skills to prioritize and execute their tasks, as well as manage their time to ensure they are allocating their efforts in a way that is efficient and effective.
2. Problem Solving - challenges and problems will present themselves daily, whether it is on the frontend, during our public skating sessions, or on the backend with employee requests and disputes. Our ideal candidate needs to be able to troubleshoot efficiently and identify solutions in a timely and confident manner.
3. Leadership - the Rink Manager will oversee all parttime crew members and, therefore, will need to possess the leadership skills to both train and support our team during their day-to-day, as well as make decisions that will result in a successful operation. The Operation Manager will also be the authoritative voice on our policies. Our ideal candidate will need to confidently navigate policy questions from customers and be comfortable making decisions in this setting as well.
4. People Skills - it is imperative that our customers have the best experience possible within our rink. Our ideal candidate will have a natural ability to engage with others, ensuring their needs are met in a friendly and helpful way.
5. Flexibility - there are many miscellaneous tasks that come up within the operation, but also with general maintenance. Our ideal candidate will need to be flexible to step in where needed and work with vendors to keep our facility in its best operating condition.
6. Self-Starter - our long-term business goals will require a Rink Manager who has vision and can push our rink operation to its best yet.

Pay

• Hourly position ranging from $18 - $23 per hour
