Millwright Journeyman
Location : Falconer, New York
Hourly Rate : $34.48 per hour
Shift : 2nd shift / Monday - Friday 3pm - 11pm

SKF Falconer produces bearings and components for the aero engine and helicopter sub segments. SKF Falconer is a key unit within SKF Aerospace.
The Falconer site also hosts people reporting to the Aerospace NA Sales unit, Aerospace RDE engineering and testing teams, plus various Business Unit staff functions.
Job Summary :
- Install and move machinery, shafting, and belts, and perform other related assignments.
- Maintain building central systems and related plumbing.
- Must possess required EPA certifications for HVAC repair.
- Follow prints or sketches and other written specifications.
- Perform safety checks of lifting devices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Receive assignment pertaining to operation to be performed specifying location and general nature of work and general and special instructions when necessary.
- Use sketch or print prepared by supervisor, Engineering Department, and or manufacturer’s specification, when necessary.
- Unload machines, or the disassembled parts of machines, from trucks using a hoist or jacks, crowbars, and wooden blocks.
- Prepare foundation for a machine.
- Outline appropriate size and dig hole to required depth (when laborers not available).
- Prepare and line hole with wooden forms; fill form with cement.
- Transfer machinery, on rollers or with assistance of power lift truck; place base or machine on foundation, as required.
- Assemble remaining parts as indicated in sketch, print or specification and adjust for operation.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe as required.
- Install valves and accessories.
- Move machinery or equipment as directed.
- Dismantle unit.
- Use various equipment to remove machine from foundation.
- Transfer to new location; lift into place, level, and secures.
- Re-assemble unit and prepare it for operation.
- Build wall partitions, etc., using sheet metal, wood, glass, and other building material.
- Repack glands on designated pumps; change filters in intake and exhaust systems.
- Repair / replace vacuum pumps, exterior plumbing, and machine drops (vacuum, compressed air, nitrogen, chiller liquid), vent stacks and associated equipment related to heat treat furnaces and equipment.
- Replace worn flooring in plant; perform major and minor concrete repairs within plant and to walks, and drives, repair roof by applying cold tar.
- Service and repair rooftop and stand-alone HVAC units.
- Maintain burners, air balance and flow, program controls, humidification, controls, compressors, refrigerants, and EPA certification.
- Maintain central coolant systems.
- Maintain / repair all compressed air lines and machine drops.
- Unblock clogged pipes and remove and replace, if necessary.
- Repair / maintain municipal water systems, valves, faucets etc.
- Perform electric arc and oxyacetylene welding, rough carpentry, painting, plumbing, and sheet metal work, as necessary.
- Fabrication of sheet metal guards and chutes
- Monthly inspect hoisting equipment for W9m or chains, loose brakes, etc., lubricate according to instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- High School diploma or GED
- Must possess a certified Journeyman card.
- Must maintain a valid Forklift license.
- Physical Requirements : Stooping, climbing, lifting, walking, using hoists, rollers, hand trucks, climbing up and down ladders, aerial platforms, accessing confined spaces, etc.
