Duties and responsibilities
Attendant Designation
- Aid guests in the lift-loading process via explanation and “bumping” chairs
- Maintain surface of loading area and maze throughout the day
- Monitor lift throughout day to ensure proper function and be vigilant for potential problems or issues
- Notify Lift Ops Manager or Supervisor if possible problem is detected, or there is an incident of any kind
- Give direction to guests through maze during busy periods
- Perform morning pre-operational setup of assigned lift, including snow removal, ramp maintenance, maze setup, etc.
- Complete all morning pre-operational checks
- Ensure all shut-down procedures are followed, no passengers left on lift, and that lift is ready to operate next day
- Maintain cleanliness of lift terminal shack and any other work areas
- Any other tasks assigned
Operator Designation
- Operate the Cooper ski lifts from the top terminal drive station
- Maintain daily lift log book located in drive station
- Provide prompt and concise communication with Mountain Operations Dispatch
- Maintain unloading platform and ramp throughout the day
- Aid guests in the safe unloading of lifts
- Perform all tasks of Lift Attendant
Qualifications
- Must be 18 with a current and valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- No experience necessary for Lift Operations Attendant designation
- 1 years experience with intermediate ski/ride skills required for Lift Operations Operator designation
- Must be trained and certified in the operation of all Cooper ski lifts by Lift Ops Manager or Supervisor
- Knowledge of all Cooper lift policies for employees and guests
- Good work ethic, dependability, and excellent customer service & communication skills

Working conditions
The Lift Operations Operator position is based both inside and outside, and is exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500 feet).
Physical requirements
Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift objects which may be heavy, etc.
