Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in Android development and a passion for augmented reality. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Android development, with proficiency in ARCore, OpenGL, and other AR development tools. This role involves the development of mobile applications and SDKs utilizing augmented reality technology to create virtual signs in the physical world.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications and SDKs for Android incorporating augmented reality technology.
• Utilize ARCore and other AR development tools to create interactive virtual signs and mind-blowing AR experiences in the real world. .
• Develop and optimize applications for Google Playstore Apps and Instant Apps.
• Implement computer vision algorithms for location matching
• Implement generative AI technology applied to ephemeral virtual signs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain at the cutting edge.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Android development.
• Proficiency in ARCore and development of mobile AR experiences.
• Proficiency in OpenGL and working with 3D objects
• Strong knowledge of Android SDKs, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes and phone models.
• Experience with GPS (Global Positioning System)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Experience with Playstore Instant Apps development.
• Fluency in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Experience working with software development tools such as GitHub and Jira.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with additional AR platforms and frameworks.
• Knowledge of emerging trends in AR and mobile development.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with Niantic's 8th Wall, Unity, and Lightship development environments.
• WebAR experience
