Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality pharmaceutical care to patients. Your responsibilities will include preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking medications
- Maintain patient profiles and medication records accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Follow proper procedures for medication storage, handling, and disposal
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration
- Perform calculations for medication dosages and compounding as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Knowledge of IV infusion, medication administration, and inhalation techniques
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and sterile compounding procedures
- Experience working in an acute care or critical care hospital setting is a plus
- Proficient in medical terminology related to pharmacy and patient care
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and recordkeeping
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
