Job Description:

We are seeking a Copywriter to join Skin Laundry's in-house Editorial team. This person will interpret our brand, products, services and campaigns into insightful and clever promotional copy. Reporting to the Editorial Director, you will be responsible for creating copy and implementing the brand's new tone of voice across various touchpoints and channels, specifically web, social media and direct marketing copy in the online customer journey. The ideal candidate has experience in beauty and/or wellness.You should have a passion for storytelling and making the complex easy to understand, while also having a strategic approach to consumer communication. With an ability to own projects, the Copywriter must be able to give and receive constructive feedback, while communicating the status of projects to the Editorial Director, who will review and approve all copy.

Main Responsibilities

• Bring Skin Laundry's values and mission to life, through all our channels, campaigns and communications.
• Support conceptual campaigns, working with Editorial Director, Art Director, medical and marketing teams to bring marketing strategies to life in a unique and insightful way.
• Craft copy that ladders up to business/project objectives while staying close to the brand voice.
• Write copy that serves many needs across the business: promos, product and brand launches, influencer content, customer acquisition drives, etc. Deliverables include email, SMS, blog, paid media ads, video copy, copy across social media channels, site updates, performance marketing, and more.
• Work efficiently within tight deadlines to manage numerous projects, delivering concise, accurate, and polished copy with strong calls to action.
• Support the Editorial Director as needed with research, brainstorming, edits, and ad hoc project support, and day to day project support.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry and marketing trends, competitor launches, and new beauty trends to create the most timely and compelling copy.
• Collaborate with social media marketing to support the development of a monthly content calendar, pitching topics, themes, and ideas.
• Work closely with team members to adhere to and maintain the copy style guide and tone of voice.
• Top edit and copy proof support.

Primary Relationships

You will be the Editorial Director's right hand on all things digital and social, and work in a collaborative creative environment, partnering with Art/Design and Project Managers.

Marketing, Digital and Merchandising teams.

Skills & Qualifications

• BS/BA in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience years of copywriting and editing experience in beauty, luxury, retail copywriting, and editorial.
• Understanding of SEO to earn high rankings with relevant keywords, and attract and engage target audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication as well as keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of partners.
• Strong prioritization, time management and excellent organizational skills.
• Understanding of metrics, including the ability to interpret performance results and take action to increase effectiveness.
• Interest in research, audience identification, industry trends, content trends, etc.
• Ability to see the bigger picture and look at work holistically.
• A willingness to embrace change and to adapt to strategic pivots.
• Experience utilizing content management software, social media platforms like Later, MS Office, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Must have the ability to meet in-person in Los Angeles in accordance with hybrid working arrangement.
• Writing samples or portfolio required
