JOB SUMMARY:
Field Inspectors perform a variety of residential and commercial inspections and assessments for new construction builders and developers. Field Inspectors interact and communicate with our customers each day to provide superior customer service and quality inspection services. Field Inspectors provide results and inspection information to the office team within set deadlines.
Experience performing Energy Ratings or Audits and holding a HERS Rater Certification is a plus. Ability to travel is required. Training will be provided to attain the required certification, as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Uses knowledge gained from training and experience to perform accurate field inspections according to set standards
- Knows, understands, and follows policies and procedures
- Asks technical and procedural questions and seeks clarity and knowledge from the Supervisor and QA when encountering a new situation in the field
- Reviews and uses information stored in OneDrive
- Routes locations each day based on assigned schedule and arrives on time
- Travels from Jobsite to Jobsite as needed
- Communicates promptly and effectively with customers and internal teams whether in-person, by phone, or via email
- Delivers exceptional customer service
- Works independently while remaining in contact with the Area Supervisor and Office
- Notifies the Area Supervisor of any issues at the jobsite for resolution
- Performs field inspections using specialized equipment to test the performance of homes
- Lifts and carries equipment and supplies up to 55 lbs. from the vehicle into the customer’s home
- Climbs ladders and stairs, enters attic space, crawl space, and basements as applicable
- Prepares the house for inspection/testing as per the standards
- Captures required indoor and outdoor photos
- Enters inspection results and required photos into the SkyeTec Mobile Application by established deadlines
- Provides written and verbal recommendations to customers when an inspection fails
- Prepares and leaves a hard copy of the code form at the jobsite and submits an electronic copy to the office
- Accepts feedback from the Area Supervisor and Quality Assurance team to improve individual accuracy
- Meets or exceeds productivity standards
- Monitors communities and notifies the office when a house appears ready for inspection to confirm the status and potentially perform the inspection if all requirements are met
- Uses, stores, and cares for testing equipment and supplies
- Schedules and travels to perform routine vehicle maintenance
- Completes quarterly equipment audit
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends monthly meetings and training as scheduled
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Willingness and ability to travel for long distances
- Able to work a demanding schedule due to the nature of fluctuations in inspection volume
- Ability to manage work for multiple projects and customers
- Comprehensive computer skills (Microsoft Office Products)
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and sound, confident presence
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to input data accurately in Microsoft Excel and Adobe pdf
- Ability to speak effectively before customers after proper training
- Ability to travel to nearby markets to assist with field inspections
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Background in construction, surveying or related experience
Salary : $17 - $21
