About Our Team
Skyline Technology Solutions is a full-service IT integrator, enterprise solution provider, and product developer to transportation, education, and public safety customers in federal, state, local, and commercial spaces. Skyline specializes in managed IT solutions, public safety data, video interoperability, physical security, and access control services.
Our New Teammate
The Project Management Office (PMO) is vital to making our solutions a reality. Our project managers, project coordinators, and technical writers keep all the moving parts of each project working interdependently to deliver to our clients and foster client relationships. Our PMO is a group of detail-oriented, people persons who provide a support system for the company itself.
We are looking for someone who excels at translating complicated ideas and complex processes into eloquent, and easy-to-understand information. Our new teammate combines their technical writing skills and creativity to transform documentation into professional and client-ready documentation, and/or easy-to-understand and follow process documentation.
You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following:
- 50% of time on Objective 1: Crafting, editing, and perfecting client & project-based technical documentation
- 40% of time on Objective 2: Crafting, editing, and perfecting internal process documentation
- 10% of time on Objective 3: Personal and organizational development
Your Value to Our Client & Team
- Work with project managers to transform notes or other documentation into professional project deliverables with client needs in mind.
- Wordsmith technical processes, instructional documents, manuals, and other technical documents into something a client, or layperson can read and understand.
- Ensure all documentation follows the Skyline branding and other template requirements to help ensure the look, feel, and professionalism.
- Edit documents with a keen eye for grammatical issues, clarity, flow, and formatting requirements.
- Remain accountable for your own output through strong time-management skills, ability to self-manage.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Your Knowledge & Expertise
- 5 years of strong experience with Microsoft Office suite programs
- 5 years of editing experience with strong attention to detail and understanding of grammar and syntax
- 5 years of proven ability to communicate complex, technical concepts effectively and in terms that can be understood by non-technical persons
- 5 years of experience with industry publishing tools such as Adobe, SnagIt, and Interactive training toolsets
- Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, writing or equivalent work experience, plus 5 years of technical writing experience
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Work is performed in an office setting whether in a company-provided office or work-at-home arrangement.
