PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Operates equipment used to manufacture products. Weighs, measures and checks raw materials to ensure that batches manufactured contain proper ingredients in proper quantities. Maintains inventory records of raw materials used in batch manufacturing. Keeps accurate and up-to-date batch records and data sheets on batches in-process. Performs in-process tests (such as hardness, weight, variation, pH and moisture content) to ensure that batches meet specifications. Recognizes equipment and product problems, notifies supervisor and/or troubleshoots errors in order to achieve optimum production levels.
SUMMARY: In this role, your will be producing custom ceramic powders through a variety of powder processing tasks. Keep accurate and up-to-date batch records, perform in-process tests, read and follow written instructions and safety protocols.
Primary job responsibilities: Loading dry raw material powders into blending tanks and milling vessels to create homogenous mixtures and reduce particle size. Loading drying ovens and loading the dry mixtures into ceramic saggers for thermal processing. Spray dry ceramic slurry mixtures. Clean all processing equipment.
Must have qualifications and skills: Ability to regularly lift 50-60 lbs. Able to work in dusty environments using a respirator. Ability to work in wet processing conditions. Maintain accurate records electronically.
Preferred competencies: Strong Computer skills. Mechanical aptitude. Education: High School or equivalency
