What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at SLAM?
The mission of SLAM is "to promote the arts and art education in a manner that enriches and involves the community". SLAM is hiring for the role of Executive Director. This role is a PT salaried position with an average of 20 hours/week. The work load and hours are concentrated around event schedules, and applicants should expect to have inconsistent task loads on any given week. Leading up to and during the flagship summer festival, hours may exceed 40/week. Compensation DOE, and will be split with the current Executive Director until the new candidate is fully on-boarded.

SLAM is headquartered in Bozeman, and candidates must either reside in the area or be willing to commute at their own expense. SLAM does not provide relocation reimbursement.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
-Represent the organization in a manner that reflects positively on the brand;
-Act as the point of contact for community members with questions about potential collaborations with the organization. (Respond to emails and phone calls);
-Present potential collaborative projects to the board of directors if they are consistent with the mission/brand of SLAM;
-Communicate with potential donors/sponsors;
-Manage marketing opportunities (bank windows, downtown banners, radio ads & interviews, print ads);
-Communicate with insurance providers and keep policies current;
-WITH BOARD SECRETARY: Keep Non-Profit Documents up-to-date: By-Laws, Annual Docs with MT SOS ;
-WITH BOARD TREASURER: Reconcile monthly bank statements in Quickbooks, Write Payroll checks to Executive director(s), Keep budgets up to date;
-WITH BOARD VICE-PRESIDENT: Maintain open lines of communication pertinent to the operations of the organization;
-WITH BOARD PRESIDENT: Create Meeting Agendas, review and send out meeting minutes
-Update website periodically;
-Research and write grant proposals;
-Oversee subcommittees for events;
-Create online submission/application forms for prospective summer event participants;
-Communicate with the accountant to ensure on time filings of tax reporting;
-File annual report with the secretary of state;
-Check po box periodically and pay any outstanding bills;
-Write and send the SLAM gram up to 2x/mo.;
-Attend monthly board meetings and report to the board of directors.
-Maintain good working relationships with local businesses, agencies, and the creative community.
