What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ad Operations Specialist position at Slate Magazine?
Slate is looking for a talented and dynamic ad operations specialist to join our team in New York. The ad operations specialist will collaborate across our business units to effectively manage all of the direct-sold display and podcast campaigns and will be responsible for all daily campaign activity. The candidate will provide strategic analysis of campaign performance to ensure we are meeting all goals and KPIs. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with internal teams and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Applicants of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales, client services, and Slate Studios to ensure the success of all campaigns by translating client KPIs into deliverables
- Manage the entry of all insertion orders in our order management platforms (DFP and Megaphone)
- Manage the ad trafficking of all creative assets in a timely manner, ensuring the accuracy of targeting and third-party tags
- Manage all reporting across campaign performance, ad product performance, and site performance, utilizing all of our reporting platforms to obtain a full understanding of performance metrics
- Ensure that both the client and Slate’s ad specifications are met during creative QA process prior to launch
- Identify and communicate campaign performance issues and discrepancies through reporting, and develop and implement an optimization strategy as needed
- Resolve any tracking and reporting discrepancies with finance and/or partners/vendors
- Develop a post-campaign analysis that includes highlights and recommendations for client wrap-up decks
- Troubleshoot ad-related site issues as well as ad issues
- Collaborate in the testing and implementation of new ad products, technologies, and tools utilized by ad operations
- Assist with the onboarding and training of new ad operations team members
- Drive continuous improvements for streamlining processes around training, day-to-day process and workflow, and new initiatives
Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and aptitude for learning new processes and technologies
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be self-sufficient
- Proficiency in Excel
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
- Prior knowledge of debugging tools such as Fiddler or Charles a plus
- Familiarity with digital advertising and podcasting a plus
- Prior experience with DFP, XMS, and/or other ad-serving and sales management systems a plus
$55,000 - $65,000 a year
