Under supervision, the Engineer II utilizes engineering principles to develop solutions. The Engineer II will take the lead in managing small to medium projects. On large or complex projects, the Engineer II will manage several aspects of the of a project requiring engineering expertise. Engineer II is expected to work collaboratively both within and outside the organization to
deliver a high-quality product.
Primary and Essential Responsibilities:
1. Oversee small to medium projects
2. Assist with evaluating energy efficiency and renewable energy strategies in buildings, campuses, communities or regional settings
3. Quantify energy system performance, life cycle cost economics and emissions reduction potential
4. Conduct secondary research related to energy and sustainability
5. Responsible for project initiation, task implementation, invoice review, budget management and the delivery of the final product
6. Prepare timeline, milestones and ensure adherence to project schedules
7. Utilize energy analytics software to inform decisions
8. Utilize engineering and tech knowledge to contribute to development of future services
9. Manage onsite responsibilities in the field; inspect facilities to ensure compliance; manage vendors and subcontractors
10. Review client contracts, identify and elevate issues; interface with accounting
11. Perform technical and administrative tasks associated with project delivery
12. Work collaboratively as a member of the project team
13. Review and mentor the work of Engineer I
14. Actively participate as a member of assigned workgroups.

Qualifications

Able to provide direction to guide project objectives
Ability to lead cross functional teams including experience at building & managing team/client/peer/vendor relations
Extensive program or project management
Possesses effective negotiation & conflict resolution skills

Demonstrate skill in oral & written communication; public speaking experience
Exhibited skill at collaborating & creating pragmatic & innovative solutions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in engineering, architecture, or related professional experience
Strong background in building science and building systems such as lighting, HVAC, or similar
Three plus years of work-related experience or training
Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with energy simulation tools is a plus.
Experience with utility energy efficiency programs is a plus.
Licenses/Certificates
None required. Professional Engineer or similar certification is a plus.
