Drafter/Designer

Description

Carrier Process Equipment Group (CPEG), is a Louisville based company with multiple businesses specializing in material handling and processing equipment. We are looking for the BEST Drafters & Designers in the industry to help us grow our business at Sly in Strongsville. We are looking for a designer who likes a challenge and is willing to learn and adapt. You demonstrate ownership and curiosity and go above and beyond for your teammates and customers.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What you’ll do

• Learn the company’s drafting process to develop precise schematics/designs for Sly products.
• Provide accurate and timely equipment approval drawings; and fabrication details; and perform necessary calculations as required by product lines.
• Assist with reading customers’ specifications for order requirements.
• Work with Regional Sales Managers and Project Engineers on application challenges and the shop for custom designs.
• Support Production Engineering Manager in ensuring that department goals are achieved.
• Create accurate models for customer orders and internal libraries for future use.
• Strive to improve and learn Sly product lines and standards.

Requirements

• Ability to multitask and solve problems and organize and prioritize cross-functional projects.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and execution skills.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD Software (Inventor).
• Excellent visualization and communication skills and ability to interface with multiple teams and individuals.
• Must be familiar with typical metal fabrication methods and materials.

Qualifications that are a plus

• Experience with project management of multiple orders.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including ASME welding standards, metal forming, and structural systems.
• Familiarity with PDM service and FEA analysis software.
• Prior experience in Air Pollution equipment.
