Architectural Designer

Job Title: Architectural Designer (Residential)

Job Summary: Smallwood Design & Construction is an experienced design and building company committed to providing our clients with the highest level of quality and service for over 40 years. The Architectural Designer position will primarily be involved with creating drawings and designing projects for home remodels and new home construction on Bainbridge Island and surrounding areas. This position requires experience using CAD or a similar design software and a familiarity with residential construction.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop conceptual designs that are consistent with client’s wishes, feasibility and budget range
• Design development: Evolve designs based on client and management feedback
• Permit and Construction documentation: Develop permit and construction drawings to for submittal and use during construction
• Assist in material selections
• Understand and be able to convey details of various construction items
• Project Management
• Permit Processing

Qualifications:

• AutoCAD experience required (Sketchup a plus)
• Design detail oriented
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products
• Mathematical and analytical skills
• Construction knowledge and ability to problem solve in field details
• Must be organized and detail-oriented to meet deadlines in order to keep design and construction jobs on schedule and running smoothly
• Ability to work effectively with clients, team members, vendors and subcontractors
• Ability to navigate municipal regulations and building codes
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
• Sales skills and client Relationship Management

Pay: $72,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year
