Job Description
Scope of Work: SmartSource is currently looking to fill the position of 2 Virtualization Consultants for a 12-month opportunity based in the Nashville, TN area.
While remote work is permitted, candidates must reside within a 3-hour radius of Nashville, TN without exceptions. The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Documenting, maintaining, and communicating the existing client and application virtualization architecture.
- Deploying forward-thinking Data Center Infrastructure to meet customer needs.
- Defining and prioritizing critical deployment milestones.
- Consulting and developing customer Data Center and Infrastructure requirements.
- Serving as the technical lead for the team in the deployment of Data Center solutions.
- Collaborating with Project Management processes and adhering to established standards.
- Gaining expertise in traditional and hyper-converged infrastructure fundamentals.
- Providing advanced technical support during the post-sales phase.
- Sharing information and best practices with fellow team members.
- Offering support and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
- Generating documentation and delivering comprehensive knowledge transfer on VMware installed products.
- Performing hands-on technical integration of various products mentioned below.
Qualifications for this role include:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in architecting, designing, and deploying Data Center Hardware solutions, with a focus on HP, Dell, VMware, Nutanix, and Cisco Compute and HCI solutions.
- Experience with backup and data protection solutions like Data Domain and Avamar.
- Proficiency in understanding physical and logical Compute, Storage, and Network technologies.
- Experience implementing best practices in Compute and Storage environments.
- Competence in installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching a scalable and high-availability virtual server environment.
- Expertise in configuring and deploying Server and Compute management solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Virtual Server management and related technologies/processes such as storage, networking, management, monitoring, security, performance, capacity, and availability.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments.
- Familiarity with software-defined networking solutions is advantageous.
- Excellent professional interaction skills with clients and contractors.
- Proven experience in creating business-relevant presentations and technical-oriented writing.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems engineering.
- A passion for learning innovative Compute and Storage technologies.
- The ability to analyze problems comprehensively and identify all their facets.
- Flexibility and a commitment to doing what it takes to complete tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Public Cloud Solutions, including Hybrid Cloud integration.
- Previous experience in deploying converged and hyper-converged solutions, such as Nutanix, VxRAIL, or similar.
Salary : $65 - $70
