Job Title: Regional Director

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Direct reports: Multiple market leaders, ideally 3-5


Overview

The Regional Director is responsible for the overall financial and employee success of the regions they are assigned to.

  • The Regional Director is responsible for the development of Market Leaders in their region. This includes selecting or approving the hire or promotion of, teaching, coaching, training and leading the Market Leaders that they directly supervise.
  • This role is held accountable for managing and ensuring the profitable growth of their markets.
  • Regular travel to markets is required to validate that expected behaviors are being exhibited by the teams in the salons.
  • When market visits are not feasible or fall outside of budgetary constraints, the Regional Director will make virtual visits using Zoom, Google Meets, remote camera inspections, conference calls, 1:1s, etc to stay directly connected to their business.
  • Other duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Regular conference calls with their direct reports
  • Regular communication with the COO as it relates to business operations
  • Establishing performance management rhythms that embrace a balanced scorecard which keeps the customers, employees, franchisors and franchisees interests in mind when making decisions
  • Will have direct P&L responsibility for their market and locations, with a focus on managing profitable growth


Qualifications

  • Previous successful multi-unit management experience
  • Success in staffing, building a positive winning culture and thriving in challenging situations
  • Is a systems thinker who has proven they can identify and solve the root causes of issues
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Frequent overnight travel may be required
  • Proven ability to successfully manage profitable growth for a portfolio of salons
  • Ability to travel between salons daily
  • Training and coaching ability to achieve exceptional customer service and performance of quality services
  • Team player with strong leadership qualities
  • Multi-tasker who can work at a fast pace while demonstrating good judgment and time management skills
  • Communicate effectively with salon team, peers, leadership team, Wal-Mart employees and customers
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to read and analyze various salon and market reports
  • Exceptional comprehension, writing, math and computer skills
  • Valid drivers license; maintain required vehicle insurance for role and be insurable for motor vehicle use

Essential Functions


Development of the Team:

  • Minimum of one virtual office meeting monthly with each Market Leader using the YSG 1:1.
  • Basecamp interaction is required and must show regular engagement
  • Responsible for creating a culture consistent with our YHSG values and mission
  • Responsible for building a high performing team that works together to achieve results
  • Ensure a high level of employee satisfaction through strong leadership with the objective of retaining the best talent and consistent performance management rhythms


Reporting & Responsibilities:

  • Accurate data reporting for scorecards, personnel management, and budgets.
  • Must partner with Amplified HR on performance management, disciplinary concerns and terminations within 24-48 hours of the incident.
  • Must meet monthly business rhythm timelines for the scorecards, personnel management, and budgets.
