Kitchen Supervisor
Smash Park is looking for a full-time Kitchen Supervisor for our new location in West Des Moines, Iowa.
As a Kitchen Supervisor for Smash Park, a typical day might include the following:
- Assisting the Chef with scheduling, ordering inventory and providing management support to the crew
- Cooking and preparing menu items in accordance to the standards and expectations set by Chef
- Stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food on the line
- Food preparing and portioning/plating prior to service
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
- Lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for long periods of time
- Answering questions that guests have regarding the food menu, drinks, the game of Pickleball, or other questions about our awesome venue
- Communicating and working closely with other team members, always staying focused on wowing customers

- You have extensive knowledge and two or more years of awesome experience in the food and beverage industry, you have experience managing others in a professional restaurant kitchen, you’re a rock-star role model, you’re pretty smart with the food and beverage laws, regulations, hygiene, health and safety guidelines, you really get how to provide exceptional customer service, and you’re great at motivating, mentoring, problem-solving, making solid decisions, providing feedback, and other ninja-like leadership skills!
- You have extensive experience working a hot line and grill; you have a solid grasp and can demonstrate your full understanding of cooking methods, ingredients and equipment.
- You are ServSafe certified.
- You have extraordinary people skills, you take pride in your work, and you enjoy creating positive and memorable experiences for your customers and the team members you support.
- You thrive on multi-tasking in a very busy environment, and you’re able to stay both focused and positive in an environment that can be a little chaotic sometimes.

To land this gig, you need to have some restaurant leadership experience, preferably in a professional restaurant environment. However, it doesn’t have to be traditional restaurant or bar manager experience. Volunteer work and side projects count.
