NRO Manager Job Description

This individual is the Smashburger Brand Ambassador Leader for restaurant Gold Standard execution.


This role is primarily responsible for leading new team member position training during a New Restaurant Opening (NRO). In addition to NRO training assignments, this role is responsible for supporting training or operational initiatives for existing restaurants as assigned by their supervisor (i.e. new product rollouts, new trainer certifications, restaurant acquisitions). This role is responsible for enabling the company’s vision by promoting and supporting a learning culture at Smashburger.


This role requires 85-90% travel to allow direct supervision of the training process for corporate and franchise New Restaurant Openings. This position will work closely with the NRO VPVP of NROs and Director of NROs to ensure all new team members are receiving the highest level of organized, and accurate training.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the highest levels of training standards at Smashburger
  • Drive the Smashburger vision, mission and values in every action and communication
  • Identify and implement training solutions that are aligned with business objectives
  • Foster continuous feedback on training effectiveness
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Manages the delivery of Gold Standard training experiences during New Restaurant Openings
  • Promotes a fun and positive work environment with a strong focus on side-by-side instruction and development
  • Responsible for overseeing the successful training execution of openings
  • Follows a defined agenda to conduct training
  • Ensures the accurate set up of the new restaurant facility; including but not limited to small wares, equipment, marketing materials, uniforms, food products, standard operating procedures and processes
  • Ensures that all training documentation is completed by each team member
  • Consistently provides open and honest feedback to the team; addressing all performance concerns immediately
  • Works with the Operations Team at NROs to teach local store marketing
  • Work with the HR team to hire/interview new team members
  • Manage NRO Team Member training materials completion
  • Ensure Gold Standard execution at all levels of the restaurant
  • Act in accordance with the policies and code of conduct outlined in the Smashburger Employee Handbook

Qualifications

  • Restaurant and market supervisor approval
  • Age 18 or older
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Ability to travel away from home restaurant location
  • 100% completion of position certifications (FOH, BOH, Manager)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In good standing
