Project Manager - Supply Chain Finance

SMBC Americas Division (AD) team is seeking a Project Manager for Supply Chain Finance to join the team. We are looking for an experienced practitioner to not only lead projects but to guide and coach along the way. You will be heavily involved in shaping the future technology landscape of SMBC by delivering key business value through transformational projects while implementing strategic components servicing across front, middle and back-office functions defined in our roadmap.

This individual will be responsible for leading teams towards targeted and scheduled outcomes that deliver on the program objectives. Additionally, the role will integrate efforts, continuously assess and refine approaches and plans, and have accountability of ensuring effective and timely communications to the appropriate parties. You are not afraid of challenging the team on details and be able to think strategically.

Knowledge and experience working with specific business lines of a corporate and institutional bank and / or emerging technologies is preferred.

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $126,000 and $196,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Responsibilities

• Organize multiple workstreams to deliver against roadmaps and sync with the overall program roadmap
• Work with Product owner(s) to align teams with the product vision, sprint goals, and other necessary information
• Drive backlog grooming and prioritization
• Facilitate sprint and release planning and cadence to ensure predictable delivery
• Perform Scrum Master duties including leading daily stand-up meetings, reviews, demos, and other project-related meetings
• Champion continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and increase productivity
• Communicate regular status updates to leadership team on timelines, resource allocation and escalate key issues and risks to ensure timely resolution and mitigation.
• Partner with other project manager(s) to ensure project health and risks (velocity, resource, blockers, etc.) are communicated and escalated as needed
• Ensure the successful delivery of key business projects and goals by understanding key requirements and interdependencies of various initiatives
• Manage multiple critical projects simultaneously and get them over the finish line
• Ensure necessary steps, stories, and dependencies to deliver projects and their components are established
• Confidently lead and drive cross-functional projects through full delivery life cycle.
• Provide business domain and functional expertise to understand key drivers of various programs
• Provide periodic team performance reporting across scope, time, and cost towards product outcomes

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ of Progam/Project Management experience and Supply Chain experience will be very helpful
• Agile or Scrum Master experience will be helpful
• Certification in a related project management process (PMP, Agile, Scrum etc.) will be helpful
• Experience working with Scrum methodology
• Experience working within the financial services industry - highly preferred
• Experience delivering new product features and/or solutions in an Agile environment
• Must be able to work effectively with business and technical resources at all levels, including senior management
• Proficient in Jira/Confluence
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Proven ability to work on tight deadlines and deliver quality results
• Strong facilitation skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or business management
