The Opportunity

As a Site Civil CADD Designer, you will become an integral part of our team of experienced, responsive problem solvers who excel in formulating practical and sustainable solutions for site, building, and infrastructure design projects.

Responsibilities

  • Using AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare moderate to complex engineering documents consisting of plan views, sections, profiles, details and notes;
  • Calculating grading volumes and quantity take-offs, collecting data from existing drawings, rough sketches and surveys to prepare drawings;
  • Using project-specific material specifications, work plans, and drawings to reference product and assembly information for project drawing requirements;
  • Working closely with other Engineers, Architects and Designers to coordinate design solutions applying standard design/drafting principles and theories to complete project deliverables.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience preferred;
  • Proficiency using the latest versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D;
  • Strong knowledge of Civil Site Development including but not limited to site layout, grading and underground infrastructure;
  • Microstation Vi8 experience is a plus;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • The ability to demonstrate problem solving skills, adapting to new challenges, and learning new concepts;
  • A willingness to work hard in an efficient and organized manner; and
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, on an as-needed basis is a plus.

  • Has competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, maintain accurate and detailed record-keeping skills, documenting field observations, safety concerns, and problem resolutions.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering positive working relationships, customer-centric approach to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Must be able to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions.
  • Basic construction competencies including ability to determine location from surface features and landmarks by interpretation from surveys, road maps, aerial photos, topographic maps, and geologic maps; understanding construction stakes set by others, and color markings of utility companies.
  • Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work, strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, fostering a safe working environment for yourself and others.
