Located in Minonk, Illinois, SMF (an Etnyre International Company) is a full-service metal manufacturing facility that specializes in heavy and light fabrication for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Our organization has a fifty year history servicing the construction, power generation, agriculture, and mining industries. Ninety-five percent of SMF’s business is as a Tier One supplier to OEMs, so we are held to high standards by our Fortune 500 clients. That’s why we are in the top ½ percent of machine shops nationwide. With more than 200,000 square feet of manufacturing capabilities between our two facilities, SMF’s process includes everything from engineering and fabrication to multiple finishing options.

We are currently looking for experienced Quality Line Inspectors who enjoy their job and can keep up with our production demands.

Job Duties:

• Inspects parts before shipping, visually checks weld quality, and reports non-conformances to the Quality and Production shift supervisors
• Helps train Production personnel to identify nonconforming products
• Answers pages for an inspector
• Audits in-process parts for defects on a daily basis
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste and inputting data into the quality database

Job Requirements:

• Proficient with basic math and able to read complex mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Skilled in use of inspection tools - including calipers and tape measure
• Manufacturing, Fabrication Shop, & Computer experience desired

• Strong organizational and workload planning skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities
• A keen eye for detail with a results-driven approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to operate overhead cranes
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, to see clearly up to 20 ft, and to stand for long periods of time
• Must be available for last minute or scheduled overtime as needed

Salary: $19-21/hr (Starting pay based on experience level)
