Welcome to Smith Cattle Co. We have a large cattle feedlot and provide cattle transportation while farming and hauling hay and grain. We are located in Lewisville, Idaho which is about 20 minutes north of Idaho Falls. We are always looking for ways to improve ourselves and our company. We are looking for a team oriented individual to become our Lead Cattle Processor/ Pen Rider.

Responsibilities:
- Lead Smith Cattle Processing/Pen Riding Crew.
- Work with our General Manager to assure incoming and outgoing cattle procedures run smoothly and efficiently concentrating on overall cattle health and facilities.
- Be involved with cattle operations ie; processing incoming cattle, cattle distribution to pens, preparing outgoing cattle pens for trucking.
- Administer animal health products to incoming cattle according to company protocol.
- Pen Riding, identify sick cattle, administer animal health products, follow identification procedures according to company protocol.
- General maintenance of facilities including (but not limited to) cattle/horse water troughs, chutes, fences, lanes, scale, working facilities, etc. assuring proper working condition and safety.
- Ability to work some heavy equipment if needed i.e.; loader, work truck.
- Keep accurate cattle health and lot/pen records in computer system.
- Follow Beef Quality Assurance guidelines.
Ideal Candidate:
- Have cattle handling experience.
- Have pen riding or farm / ranch experience.
- Solid computer skills for accurate record keeping of pen/lots to maintain company cattle health protocols.
- Skilled at adapting to multiple environments and job-related tasks.
- Ability to understand and execute directions.
- Consider yourself to be a team player.
- Own work horse(s) (Paddock available for up to three work horses with feed provided).
Required:
- Able to work in adverse weather
- Available for weekends and holidays (rotation)
