Structural Steel Estimator

Smith Erectors, Inc., a Markle, Indiana, steel erector has successfully erected hundreds of buildings in the northeast Indiana, northwest Ohio and mid-Indiana regions for over 15 years. We currently have an opening for estimator/project manager. Position requires strict attention to detail, thoroughness, and ability to multi-task. Tasks require the proven ability to take off prints accurately for steel erection and concrete reinforcement for large school, hospital, commercial and municipal projects. Optimal candidate should also be able to manage projects from take-off/bid submission including contract review, through on-going project management, communications with clients, job cost monitoring and performance/profitability reporting to management. Tasks also require the ability to navigate various software programs as well as proficiency in Word and Excel.

5 years minimum verifiable experience in estimating/project management in the steel erection industry is preferred.

Smith Erectors also has a sister company that fabricates steel for erection in construction projects. Preference will be given to candidates that can fulfill the duties previously listed as well as the ability to manage a fabrication shop, detail prints, and successfully utilize SDS2 software.
