Your Opportunity
Oversees and coordinates a team of specialists who are involved in setting expectations in all aspects of production and business relations to producers. Evaluates producer performance using the company’s standardized evaluation form.
Core Responsibilities
- Communicate and enforce expectations based on contractual obligations and regulations to producers.
- Supervise, develop and coordinate a team of Specialists.
- Evaluate producers using company’s standardized evaluation forms.
- Create strategies and bring a level of understanding with producers to elevate their abilities in production.
- Accountable for reporting to Production Director on all aspects of the team and producer developments.
- Be able to navigate data to explore areas of influence.
- Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield, dba Murphy Brown LLC subscribes.
- Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
- Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
- Responsible for being in compliance with all animal welfare laws and procedures to which Smithfield, dba Murphy-Brown LLC subscribes.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with company EMS policies and procedures in the performance of their job duties.
- Responsible for understanding all safety requirements of the job and for performing the job in compliance with the safety requirements.
- All other duties as assigned necessary for the care of in the swine and/or the swine facility.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Animal Science, Ag Business, or related field and 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- 2 years experience acting as a lead by providing training, guidance or mentoring to less experienced staff or managing processes and projects, required.
- 5 years of swine production experience and leadership experience preferred.
- Current and valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
- Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools and Apps such as Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
- Must be available for domestic travel, which may include overnight stays.
- Must be available to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Supervise, develop and coordinate a team of Specialists.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be able to walk an average of 2 – 4 miles per day, occasionally up to 5 or 6.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs on a limited basis.
- Must be able to operate a high pressure washing system.
- Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment.
