Responsible for the procurement of materials, inventory management and supply chain duties to ensure efficient delivery of product in order to meet customer delivery schedule. Position must be responsive and be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Source a wide variety of commodities to extremely tight schedules.
  • Establish strong working relationships with suppliers.
  • Coordinate and track projects to meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Recognize potential problems and advise procurement management of recommended action on major purchase cost increases, delivery changes, technical and quality problems.
  • Advises all interested parties regarding conditions affecting material availability and prices so that they may plan accordingly.
  • Prepares a variety of reports as required to support materials management function
  • Negotiate best pricing taking into account quality and delivery requirements
  • Complies with and ensures department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
  • Complies with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.
  • Other duties as required.

The Individual

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Oracle or similar ERP platform.
  • Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) is Preferred
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal departments.
  • Ability to write, review and manage subcontracts as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field desired

Experience: 3 to 5 years of purchasing/materials management experience, preferably working in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment

Security: All positions are in a secured DoD site which requires all candidates to be US persons (US Citizens or Permanent Resident). May be required to obtain security clearance.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% / Minimal
