Reports to: Child Nutrition Director
Qualifications: Two years school food service experience or related experience
High school diploma, GED or higher education
Requirements:
Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Power point
Must have strong customer service skills
Must be able to communication with students, staff and parents
Must have the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Must be able to take instructions from multiple people
Must be flexible and able to work after hours for events
Must be able to life OVER 15 pounds
Must be able to bend and lift over head
Must be able to be on feet for 8 hours per day
Must be able to work for multiple hours in freezer
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides technical assistance to director, school managers, and staff to implement program goals and objectives
- Coordinates individual school reports to assist in compilation for reimbursement
- Knows, understands and assists in implementing the requirements of the Child Nutrition Program
- Assists managers in menu planning to ensure that all meals served meet USDA standards
- Participates in the free and reduced price meal applications and collections procedures process
- Communicates with the director on a continual basis the findings, problems and successes observed in individual schools and documents findings
- Participates in planning, preparation, delivery, clean-up and billing of catering activities
- Assists in developing and implementing professional growth and certification activities for staff
- Responsible for social media for the department
- Assists in new employee orientation
- Assists in the management of accurate personnel data
- Provides direct assistance to the cafeteria managers
- Monitors working conditions in all facilities and recommends methods for increasing efficiency
- Works with students to help increase participation
- Participates in the hiring and evaluation of employees
- Assists in planning and conducting staff meetings and workshops for food service personnel
- Complies with federal, state, and local safety and sanitation regulations
- Assists in the adherence of safety standards for individual schools
- Assists in implementation of safety training program
- Assists in emergency and accident reporting and prevention
- Working knowledge of equipment use and care in foodservice cafeterias
- Ability to communicate well with parents, school/program staff, vendors, and the general public
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google
- Must have a sanitation certification within the first year
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
