What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Smoque Steak?
Smoque Steak is a first-of-its kind steak destination built around a unique smoke-and-sear method for producing exceptionally delicious and distinctive steaks.
The team behind Smoque BBQ has re-imagined the classic American steakhouse around the idea that it doesn’t need to be grandiose to be special. It doesn’t need to be pretentious to be unique. It doesn’t need to be exorbitant to be great.
We are looking to fill multiple Front of House positions, including servers, bartenders, server assistants, and hosts.
The Host position is paid starting at $18 an hour or more based on experience, plus participation in a full house tip pool, which will add another $3-$8 an hour to the total compensation.
JOB SUMMARY: The Host is the first and last point of contact with the guest and is responsible for greeting, seating and saying goodbye to guests as well as maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service. They will also take and confirm reservations over the phone, retrieve messages and return phone calls in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
Essential Duties
- Must have night and weekend availbility
- Make same day reservations and confirmation calls
- Handle email inquiries
- Respond to requests in the reservations inbox
- Proof same day and next day reservations to revise notes, find /solve problems
- Assist Management team with various projects
