Description

SUMMARY 

Contacts assigned customer accounts or prospects to sell company products within a designated geographic territory or by nature of customers. Focuses on personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and troubleshooting on problem or key markets. May have special markets/complex product lines assigned that require significant client relationship skills. This position is for a seasoned sales professional with extensive product and market knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Meets personal sales targets as established, incorporating the full range of products/services within identified markets or geography. Typical accounts would be high challenge, high complexity, diverse customers that require ongoing client relationship support.

May accompany sales professionals on calls where appropriate, and contributes to training of less experienced sales representatives; provides technical advice to sales group as needed.

Independently prepares sales presentations, contracts, and proposals to ensure successful outcome of transactions.

May participate in special projects/programs as assigned, such as training or communications sessions within or outside of the company.

Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own company's production and delivery schedules.

Responsible for customer communications, set up, and record keeping throughout the Returned Good process 

Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Marketing duties as needed including: tradeshow scheduling, ad creation, ordering giveaways, graphic design capabilities, and maintain social media accounts

Performs other related duties as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED 

Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.

JOB COMPLEXITY

Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university preferred; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
