SMS group is an industrial equipment manufacturer for the steel industry. We design, build, and service equipment
and sleep plants across the globe with a strong technical services / machine shop network in North America.
Summary
Welder / Fabricator will analyze assignment and determine most effective procedure. Assemble, fit, tack and weld a
variety of complex fabrications and assemble.
The right candidate will
- Perform welding operations such as arc, MIG, TIG brazing and burning in all positions on a variety of metals.
- Operate drill press to make parts for fabrication.
- Record measurements, record pertinent information as required.
- Weld per SMAW, GMAW, GTAW standards; vertical up, vertical down, and horizontal
- Plasma arc cutting
- Air carbon arc cutting
- Pipe bending, fitting, welding, and threading
- Use horizontal and vertical saws, torch, and cut off wheel
- Set up and operate all welding machines, be able to do basic troubleshooting
- Set up and operate all machines in the fabrication area, be able to do basic troubleshooting
What you’ll need
- Must have GED or High school Diplomas
- Basic knowledge of mechanical applications
- Follow instructions and established procedures.
