We are looking for a full-time Web Developer to work for a large federal customer. This position is full-time remote but restricted to candidates living in the Southeast US. Candidate should expect travel up to 4 weeks per year with bulk of travel to Vicksburg, MS.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, develop, deploy, and maintain working software
- Support and maintain automated builds and deployments for applications
- Creating web content for multiple customer projects
- Updating or developing enhancements for inherited code
- Application and code debugging
- Develop and configure web applications to include:
- Installation and initial configuration
- Authentication integration including 2-factor authentication
- Database connections and configurations
- Version upgrade planning and executing
- Security patching and compliance
- Performance optimization
- Troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Manage web applications in a virtual server environment
- Debugging applications created by a 3rd party
Required Skills and Experience:
- Clearance Required: Ability to obtain Secret clearance (position may require US Citizenship for work under DoD contracts)
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university with relevant coursework (equivalent experience may be substituted for this requirement)
- Possession of or ability to obtain CompTia Security or CISSP certification (within the first 6 months of employment)
- 2 years of experience and proficiency with each of the following:
- Python
- Container platforms, such as Docker
- Web development frameworks, such as ASP.NET Core, React, Vue.js, Angular, Spring, Django, Ruby on Rails, Laravel
- Developing and configuring web-based applications
- Working knowledge of deploying containerized applications
- Git version control
- Able to write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best practices for software development
- A thorough understanding of application and code debugging methodologies
- Experience configuring IIS, Apache/Tomcat in a business environment
- Working knowledge of Linux shell environment
- Experience creating code based connections to various database environments (MS SQL, Postgres, MariaDB)
- Must have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Capacity to learn and implement new technologies utilizing product documentation, web resources, and product support channels
- Capacity to be equally effective working independently or as part of a team
- The ability to communicate effectively with other technologist and business stakeholders
Desired Qualifications:
- Active US government secret clearance
- 2 years' experience managing IIS, Apache, or Apache Tomcat
- Web development experience with a language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby
- Experience with .Net framework
- Experience securing applications relative to DOD STIG
- Experience installing, configuring and using various open source and CI/CD tools
- Experience with smartcard or other 2 factor authentication models
- Experience managing applications to support development such as Gitlab, JIRA, and Visual Studio
- Experience working with web applications in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure
