They analyze system requirements and business processes, and establish procedures to bridge the gap between business-related issues and I.T. development. Role Description:
In the role of Business Systems Analyst (internally known as, Business Systems Analyst), you will be part of the System and Product Development team. You will work closely with Application Owners, Developers and Product Managers. Your contributions to business systems through skilled analysis, creative problem solving, and requirement solicitation and documentation will be felt throughout Safety National.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Business Systems Analyst will include:
- Assist with implementation of the particular area of focus within Business Analysis, following strict Project Management Life Cycle / System Development Life Cycle (PMLC/SDLC) processes and guidelines.
- Partners with the business to understand the ‘why’ behind a problem and be a thought leader in the solutioning.
- Understands the purpose and the basic concepts of Business Process Management (BPM).
- Defines the value changes will bring and produce cost-benefit analysis for the future.
- Creates and maintains process and support documentation.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to create project timelines and assign tasks and deliverables.
The ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates clear working knowledge of Information Technology concepts and performs tasks per area of focus within Business Systems Analysis as assigned by Manager
Some of the essentials skills required of you in this role are,
- Act as a product champion for at least one system/application.
- Act as a liaison between business departments and the Information Services department.

Qualifications:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience
- Or, appropriate combination of education and experience
Required :
- Excellent written, analytical, problem solving and verbal communication skills
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding of software development life cycles (agile, waterfall, iterative).
Preferred :
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or other recognized professional Business Analysis certification is desirable
- Motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and customer-focused
- Detail oriented and possess a desire for quality P & C Insurance experience is preferable
- Experience in working on distributed or remote teams
