Our Credit Risk department manages our workers’ compensation surety bond product offering, while supporting our large deductible and large casualty product offerings that require customer financial analysis. Role Description:
Entry level professional position that contributes to the Credit Risk Department primary product offerings - Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation (WC) Surety Bonds and Large Deductible (LD) Insurance policies. A key contributor to the operations of the Credit Risk Department relating to Self-Insured WC Surety Bonds, LD Insurance policies, and other various credit risk areas/product lines by providing a high performance, detailed orientated, and team first skill set. This individual will also have the opportunity to help underwrite the financial/credit risk information associated with Safety National’s Self-Insured WC Surety Bond product and our LD insurance policies. This credit risk analysis is performed primarily through an extensive evaluation of an account’s financial statements. Once the financial/credit risk analysis has been completed and properly approved, new or renewal WC Surety Bond and LD policy terms are quoted.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Credit Risk Analyst will include:
- Solicit financial statements of current and prospective insureds for submissions for the WC Surety Bond and LD product lines. Review and assess new and renewal submission data to ensure information is complete and accurate. Entry and filing of submission data in Credit Risk systems.
- Prepare and execute new surety bonds, bond riders, and cancellation notices and update V2 surety bond application, Insurance Management System and ImageNow, as change are required to be made to the surety bonds.
- Assist in the development of WC Surety Bond and LD quote terms (new and renewal quotes) derived from the previously documented credit risk underwriting process. New and renewal quotes include collateral (if applicable), pricing/credit risk charges, and indemnity requirements.
- Ensure a high level of data quality within Credit Risk Department. Work with the Information Services Department to identify system anomalies in the V2 Surety Bonds application, Insurance Management System and Image Now. Complete user acceptance testing and implement corrective actions.
- Communicates with internal and external contacts in the normal course of business under guidance from exempt personnel.
- Works with staff to assist in performing various administrative tasks including data entry, data requests, file maintenance, and maintaining lists of records.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Required Qualifications:
- Prior applicable work experience
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to prioritize tasks and multi-task while working with others to meet set timeframes
- Works under general supervision.

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
