Challenger Lifts, Inc, a division of Snap-on is looking for a candidate that can promote safety awareness and cultivate the safety culture throughout the facility by actively communicating with all levels of employees in their work areas. Manage and sustain safety related policies. Plans, coordinates, and administers programs as they relate to accident prevention, the environment, and loss control.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains safety policies, practices and procedures to prevent work related accidents and injuries.
- Interacts with all levels of employees at their work area to actively promote safety and the safety philosophy throughout the facility.
- Partners with management to set performance expectations and safety goals. Suggests and communicates strategies and information to leaders and managers.
- Plans, promotes, organizes, and directs job safety audits (JSA) and related activities. Ensures sustainment of program procedures and advises management on problem correction.
- Drives the development of plans to achieve short and long-term safety and improvement goals.
- Advises and trains business leaders, managers, HR managers, and field staff in OSHA and other regulatory requirements and Safety Program essentials.
- Manage and implement programs to comply local, state and federal regulatory requirements by understanding licensing, permitting requirements (i.e., Air, Storm and Waste Water permits).
- Manage and coordinate safety/risk management programs, i.e., OSHA-PSM, EPA-RMP, Cal-AARP, wastewater, solid waste, hazardous waste, universal waste, and Storm Water programs.
- Maintain all EHS related documentation as required.
- Coordinate monthly safety trainings, IH studies, environmental sampling, and other EHS related activities completed by outside vendors.
- Aid with site related permit renewals and recertification.
- Update and maintain facility map for safety equipment, PPE requirement areas, fire system coverage, and other safety related components.
- Complete safety inspections in a traditional manufacturing setting.
Qualifications:

- This role requires strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite products including Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.

- Ability to foster credibility and influence others.
Associate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as a safety professional in a mid to large size manufacturing organization preferred.
