Lead and Assistant Teaching/Instructing opportunities available for after school programs weekdays between 2:00 - 6:00 in the Smyrna/Vinings area.

Position:
The primary focus of a Snapology STEM Instructor will be to teach Snapology programs. Instructor's are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts.
Programs are conducted for children ages Pre-K through 5th grade. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to partners, parents & children with a high degree of professionalism with partner schools and community centers.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead groups of students through Snapology curriculum-guided activities
- Follow all Snapology lesson plans & activities. Each class is fully prepared for each instructor - no lesson plan creation needed! All materials, lesson plans, & paid training is provided.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
- Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
- Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
- Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
Qualifications:
- Criminal and Child Clearances including background checks and fingerprint scanning required
- Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
- Education degree or teaching experience, students pursuing a degree in education with classroom experience may also be considered for this position
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Reliable transportation to and from job and training sites.

- Ongoing weekday after-school classes
- Additional opportunities exist for in-school enrichment and field trips, weekend workshops and/or birthday parties, and school break camps
- We have both Lead Instructor and Assistant positions open
This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Snapology Instructors typically work between 10 - 20 hours per week.

Snapology Instructors follow current local and/or partner facility safety guidelines which could include wearing masks, whether vaccinated or not. Flexibility in adjusting to a changing environment is required.
