Put your legal and organizational skills to work at Snell & Wilmer, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the Western United States. We currently have an opening for a Legal Document Specialist in our Word Processing Department.
The successful candidate will be able to handle day-to-day work challenges and adjust to multiple demands, priorities and rapid change. This position requires the ability to edit large, complex documents in a timely manner with extremely close attention to detail. Also required is advanced skill in the areas of document formatting and blacklining. The incumbent must possess excellent proofing and editing skills as well as the ability to function independently and possess good follow through.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Types memos, correspondence, meeting interviews and legal documents.
- Audio transcription from .mp3/.wav files, tapes and CD's.
- Edit large, complex documents in a timely manner with extremely close attention to detail. Prepares PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Visio drawings.
- Processes several scans/scan cleanups.
- Electronically files documents in numerous courts.
- Develops and maintains smooth working relationships with attorneys and peers.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years of legal secretary or legal word processing experience to include strong litigation skills.
- Advanced skill in the areas of document formatting and blacklining.
- Excellent proofing and editing.
- Must be able to type 70 wpm.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Legal experience in litigation and intellectual property is a plus.
