What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at Snelling Staffing?
Our startup Lithium-Ion battery cell development and manufacturing client that is commercializing cell chemistry that was developed and built in the USA for the world, is looking for a Cost Accountant who will be responsible for the development and measurement of all manufacturing-related costs of operation within the Company including procured direct and indirect materials, direct and indirect labor as well as fixed and variable overhead.
Location: Endicott, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting variances against all elements of cost standards
- Recommending changes to the Company’s processes and policies to improve costs
- Managing the interface with the Company’s ERP and other systems and procedures for accumulation and reporting of product, manufacturing, and other costs of operations.
- Preparing Gross Margin/Profit analyses by customer/by-product.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong background in establishing standard product costs in high-volume, process manufacturing environment.
- Highly proficient with accounting software within an ERP system; MS Dynamics preferred.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Thorough understanding of cost accounting procedures.
- Ability to measure, report and explain meaningful results to operations and finance management.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- At least 5 years of experience in a sophisticated cost accounting environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
