Job DescriptionSNI Technology’s client is immediately seeking to hire five (5) temporary Student Mentors for an exciting short-term STEM project located in Greeley, CO. This temp assignment is estimated to start on 7/1/24 with an estimated end date of 7/19/24. The total hours expected for this project is 40 hours. Please note this role is an onsite position. No remote work opportunities available.
STEM Student Mentors
Job Summary
Act as a mentor to teams of four to six high school students during a STEM-based event to be held by Industrial Technologies from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. between July 15-19, 2024, on the Greeley campus.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School Diploma plus
1 year of education/certification and/or experience related to STEM, or
a combination of education and/or work experience.
Specific activities include:
Attend an initial orientation meeting the week of July 8 th in person or via Zoom.
Complete the necessary training for Authorized Adults, as defined by our MINORS IN COLLEGE PROGRAMS PROGRAM, between July 1 st and July 12, 2024.
Complete the Code of Conduct and Best Practices Acknowledgment Form and submit it to Program Coordinator before July 12, 2024.
Actively support the student team’s efforts to complete tasks assigned to them. This can include answering technical questions, instilling confidence in their efforts, and providing encouragement if they encounter difficulties.
Ensure that teams keep to their schedule and arrive at different events on time.
Answer technical questions from the teams to assist them in completing various tasks related to engineering, science, and technology.
Act as a Guide for the teams as they navigate around the Greeley campus completing their event tasks.
Ensure that all team members are able to, and do, actively participate in the event.
Provide feedback to the event coordinator at the end of each day on the progress of their teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
1 year of education/certification and/or experience related to STEM
Or a combination of education and/or work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in STEM related field
Pay Rate
The pay rate for this position is $18.88 per hour during the contractual period of the assignment
