What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Engineer Intern position at Snyk?
Solutions Engineer Intern (For 2020 or 2021 university graduates)
Our Community Outreach internship program was first designed and launched during the Covid-19 pandemic, when we were particularly concerned on the disproportionate economic impact of the pandemic on women and under-represented communities. We want to leverage the incredible growth and success we have experienced at Snyk to play our role in supporting women and under-represented minorities who have graduated either in 2020/2021. The internship program allows minority groups with career opportunities while simultaneously aligning with our own talent growth strategy as a company.
We’re looking for a curious, driven, and user-focused individual to join Snyk as a Solutions Engineer Intern. This person would be the technical expert in pre-sales discussions with customers, as we look to scale Snyk to greater heights!
Snyk's mission is to help developers and organizations use open source code and stay secure. We believe that open source is a force for good, but security is a key concern. Our product enables developers and enterprise security teams to continuously find & fix vulnerable dependencies without slowing down, with seamless integration into Dev & DevOps workflows.
You’ll spend your time:
- becoming a technical product expert, evangelist and coach, able to give technical sales demonstrations to customer and partners in your sleep
- educate customers about the adoption of open source security solutions and the importance of empowering developers to stay secure
- drive the technical aspects of the sale, providing demonstrations, managing proof of concepts, demonstrating product expertise and sharing best practice
- drive adoption of security with open source, container, and Infrastructure as Code solutions, as well as helping to empower developers to stay secure
You should apply if:
- you've spent time in a mixture of customer-facing work and technical work
- you’re familiar with a wide variety of coding languages and how they work
- you have a strong interest in the developer and DevOps ecosystems and practices
- you love to learn about new technology and you’re curious about how things work under the hood
- you plan and you succeed, setting milestones along the way
- you over-communicate, create alignment, rally resources, and satisfying stakeholders
- you love to collaborate and share knowledge and discovery of things you’ve learned with others
- you’ve worked closely with highly technical customers before
- you understand people and what makes them tick
- you have a team-oriented mindset
- you care about diversity and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life.
- bonus if you’re worked in early-stage, fast-growth startups… especially in developer tooling!

Please apply below! We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we’ve created and we value diversity. We’ve designed these internships to support some of the groups most impacted by Covid, so this role is specifically for women and underrepresented ethnic groups who have/will graduate in 2020/2021 and are preparing to transition out of education and into full time employment.
