On-Call Environmental Biologists

Soar Environmental Consulting needs on-call Field Biologists with monitoring experience. Specialists in Southern and Central California.

Position Description:

Experienced in monitoring and surveying biological fieldwork. This is not lab work.

The experienced biologist will conduct fieldwork in support of our Utility partners to provide monitoring reports and work with construction crews to maintain compliance with permits and regulations. Additionally, our specialists will be responsible for implementing Mitigation Measures & Permit Conditions listed in USFWS, USACE, SWRCB, and CDFW opinions and/or permits. Must demonstrate positive relationships with local agencies and provide evidence of strong technical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting and developing technical surveys
• Biological resources monitoring
• Tracking project conditions and regulatory requirements
• Coordinating with construction teams regarding schedules & compliance
• Working as an integral part of a large, diverse team
• Providing timely project deliverables to project manager
• Providing quality control for surveillance and monitoring reports
• Implementing appropriate protocols

Qualifications:

• California residents only.
• Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science or related field.
• 2 years experience performing fieldwork in California
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• On-Call

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 50% (Preferred)
