Print Estimator

Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000 Annually
Job Summary:

The Estimator position entails estimating costs and initial planning of potential jobs to be produced or brokered.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receive and confirm specifications included in “Requests for Quote” forms and other pricing requests.
• Plan press layouts and other production methods for each estimate.
• Coordinate with customer service/estimating departments both internally and at affiliated companies to obtain accurate pricing on external production functions.
• Obtain competitive pricing from un-affiliated vendors for materials and services as needed including quotes from multiple sources for comparison.
• Work with production supervisors as needed to answer technical questions regarding projects.
• Use estimating tools (software, standards, etc.) to compile estimated costs that will be both competitive for the customer and profitable for the company.
• Communicate with Director of Client Services and/or President to establish pricing for completed estimates.
• Maintain daily log of estimates completed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Intermediate math skills required.
• Knowledge of graphic arts, specifically lithographic printing, pre-press and display fabrication.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Math or Business preferred
• At least two years related experience in print, display, and graphic arts industry.
