Social Service Professionals, "the professional's choice" for careers in Social Work, is looking for a Social Worker (BSW) to work as a crisis counselor providing supportive and interventional services to Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) with developmental disabilities at a residential facility in East San Diego, CA. Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients’ psycho-social needs;

Evaluate patients’ family/social situation to support a treatment plan;

Make recommendations to the healthcare team for appropriate psycho-social support;

Utilize community resources to assist patients’ psycho-social needs;

Document history, care plans and prepare reports as needed.

Experience Requirements:

1 to 2 years of experience as a Social Worker (BSW);

1 to 2 years of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities;

1 to 2 years of experience working with Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) is preferred.

Education Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field.

Qualifications:

Current AHA-approved CPR card

Skills:

Skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic and reasoning, judgment, time management techniques and data entry;

Ability to make improvements or take corrective action;

Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources;

Organize, plan, and prioritize work;

Communicate with people outside the organization, represent the organization to patients, clients and the public;

Deal calmly and effectively in high stress situations;

Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time;

Work within a team as well as independently;

Speak, read, and write effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience while demonstrating the proper use of grammar.
