Job Description
This position will report to a Principal within our Specialty Engineering Division and will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and interpret subsequent data from structural monitoring plans for various types of structures.
- Perform in-situ load testing and non-destructive testing.
- Analyze test data and reporting of results.
- Experience with various forms of instrumentation and controls.
- Perform site visits and inspections in support of specialty engineering projects.
- Interpret and review engineering drawings as required.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather, analyze, and communicate information to resolve problems.
- Minimum of a master’s degree in structural engineering, engineering mechanics, or similar field.
- Experience working in a material testing laboratory and/or in the field performing in-situ testing and monitoring.
- Experience installing and monitoring strain gauges and vibration monitors.
- Experience with non-destructive testing and examination techniques such as UT, PAUT, MT, and/or GPR.
- Understanding of and ability to read drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Experience interpreting testing, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to travel to customer or project sites, (moderate travel required).
- Knowledge of LabView a plus.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
